Meet Carissa

Hi, I’m Carissa.

I’m usually making something, overthinking something, or saying, “Okay, hear me out…” about another idea.

Sometimes all three.

You might know me from Shop POPPY. For years, that’s where I put my ideas, my love of color, and approximately twelve projects at a time. By Carissa gives those ideas a little more room—and gives me room to show up as the person behind them.

Around here, you’ll find things I make, things I love, and things I think we should talk about. A guided reset for when your brain has too many tabs open. Something colorful you probably didn’t need but absolutely love. Words for a feeling you haven’t quite figured out how to explain.

I like pretty things. I also like conversations that go past “I’m fine.”

I know what it’s like to lose your “pink.” To be so busy being what everyone needs that you’re not sure what you enjoy anymore. I’m finding my way back to those things, and some of what I create comes from that very place.

Then there’s The Ordinary Good.

I notice people. The server who’s having a hard week. The person who could use a little help but would never ask. Someone who just needs to know they haven’t disappeared into the background.

The Ordinary Good is my way of inviting you into that, too. We can deliver dinner, help with gas, meet a need, or make somebody’s Tuesday a little better.

And because apparently creativity runs in the family, you’ll also find Ellen, Obviously—my daughter’s corner for squishies and her own big ideas. She has opinions. And inventory.

This space will keep growing. I have a lot I want to make, share, and try.
